Salto Travel Information

Salto District lies around 500 km from Montevideo. Although this town does not hold a significant touristic status, compared to the previous ones as far as natural attractions are concerned, Salto offers a wide spectrum of SPAs, ideal for relaxation and the relief of physical ailments through specific therapies. Daymán, barely 7 km from town, constitutes the most important thermal water complex in the area.
The hotel infrastructure is not to be compared to that in other destinations, but it counts on the 5-star "Horacio Quiroga" Hotel. In its early days, it was the former residence for one of the most representative writers in Latin American literature, after whom it has been named. The building was restored and remodeled into a hotel that at the same time constitutes part of the local cultural heritage. Regardless of the excellent service and its thermal water facilities, the place shows a picturesque and cultural ambiance, easily capture by every visitor´s eye.
The "Arapey" complex is yet another choice available here. It is divided into a public and a private sector; the latter features a 5-star resort owned by Barceló Resorts & Hotels Chain.
